Salima’s parents are some of my best clients of all time – this is at least the seventh job I’ve done with them, mostly portraits, but also their wedding and an anniversary party. It’s always a pleasure to see them, and really a treat to be able to watch their daughter growing up in my pictures.
Nicole’s family have been some of my very best clients over the years, so it was especially gratifying to see her again for her senior photos. She’s an artist, and wanted something funky and urban – but since it was pouring outside, we skipped the outdoor urban backdrop and opted to wander around my studio building instead.
The older brother of these four came to my studio last year for graduation photos, and his family came back in advance of the younger brother’s graduation as well. It was a pleasure to see them again.
I bring a model in to class for a portrait session each semester. This time we had few logistical hiccups but it worked out just fine in the end. Pretty much all of my students were there, so I didn’t get much chance to shoot myself, but I did a few test shots while setting up the lights. This is done with just one light and a shoot-through umbrella. I like how the light wraps around her face.
Anne came to my class tonight to be our model, and it was a real treat to photograph her – she was extremely expressive and a lot of fun to work with.
