I think I like the single peonies best. The doubles are a little too much, though they are beautiful.
I found a used Leica 45/2.8 macro for cheap for my Oly EP3 and I was playing around with it in the garden yesterday after work
I kinda exaggerated the hell out of the contrast in this, but I like the effect. If I were going to make a print, I would probably go back and bring out more detail in the center.
I planted a wildflower mix from costco this year and it has been fantastic – the best part are these poppies – probably california poppies (very different from the icelandic ones I have in another part of the garden…)

We planted four rose bushes last year. Two didn’t make it through the snow, but the remaining two have these stunning pink blossoms, and they’ve been blooming for months now.
When we were in Maine last weekend, my parents helped us find an area in the woods where lady slippers were growing wild. I’m not sure I had ever seen one up close before.
