Our baby, Maija, was born at 10pm yesterday. She is perfect like her mother.

Quilt for Forbes
My colleague and friend Forbes is expecting a baby in just a few weeks, so Patsy and spent the weekend making a baby quilt. We tried a different pattern this time, and I think it turned out really nicely.
Another…
I think I like the single peonies best. The doubles are a little too much, though they are beautiful.

Peony
It has taken years, but it looks like my peonies are finally starting to bloom for real. This white one was one of the first this year, hidden behind our rose of sharon. We’ve got some pink ones, both double and single, that look like they’ll bloom in the next couple of days as well.

Poppy
Poppies are my favorite flowers to photograph. In my garden these orange icelandic poppies come back every year, but I can’t for the life of me get the big asian poppy to bloom :(

Luna moth eye
This is the ‘eye’ on the wing of a luna moth that was hanging around Bandelay this weekend

Baby Quilt
Patsy and I spent the weekend making this baby quilt for a colleague/friend of mine who is having a baby girl in a couple of weeks. It was a fun way to spend the weekend together :)
